DUO DENUM is:

Tom Law is a composer/improviser from Saugerties NY

who performs laptop-based electroacoustic music with viola da gamba. He

performs regularly with Al Margolis (contact mics, violin, etc.) as Duo Denum,

and also with percussionist Kevin Cheli in the Cheli/Law Duo.

Al Margolis is a composer/performer, improvisor, and painter. Since 1984, often

under his project name If, Bwana, he has worked in the field of non-commercial,

non-popular music and sound.

a project of composer/recordist Craig Chin. Its goal is spatio-temporal dilation

through sound. Performances are site-specific, spontaneous compositions

influenced by both the physical characteristics of the space they are performed in

Actual/Actual showcases improvised music with a blues music orientation at the core while keeping to a broad outlook towards "spontaneous composition". Their wide swath takes in swing, Latin music, fusion, doom rock, reggae, punk, and many other musical elements. It's all "grist for the mill" as they create a new context for these elements where improbable connections are made and things happen when you least expect them to do so.

Forgotten Valley is a series of shows at 3 Dots that feature bands and artists that shaped the rich music scene of the 90's and pairs them with up and coming local acts from the current DIY scene.
